Rofhiwa "Percy" Manyaga

Born in Maungani Village near Thohoyandou, Limpopo, on January 23, 1983, Rofhiwa Manyaga is a celebrated gospel singer, songwriter, and producer whose journey began at just 10 years old. Inspired by his late father, musician Darius Manyaga, he quickly developed a deep passion for music and ministry.
By age 11, he was already playing piano in church, laying the foundation for a career that would see him work alongside some of South Africa’s most respected gospel producers, including Sizwe Zakho, Prof. Dr. Jeff Mapaya, the late Emmanuel Mamphogoro, Dr. Aubrey Khoza, and Gabriel Tshisikule.
Rofhiwa’s discography spans over two decades, beginning with his debut album Ntakadze Vho – Wash Me With Your Blood in 2001. This was followed by Sendelani (2003) and the chart‑topping Kuyoba Mnandi (2005), the same year he founded RT Records and formed a duo with Takie Ndou.
His solo career flourished with albums like Victory (2012), Rofhiwa Live in Concert (2015), Proverbs 3:5‑6 (2019), and his 2022 live CD/DVD recorded at the Pretoria State Theatre. In 2024, he released the much‑anticipated EP Rofhiwa Dzina.
A multi‑award‑winning artist, Rofhiwa has earned two Crown Awards for Best Collaboration and Best Traditional Singer, as well as nominations for the South African Music Awards (SAMA) and Ingoma Awards. He was also honored at the Vhavenda Acknowledgment Awards for his role as a community builder.
Beyond the stage, he has produced music for Takalani Sesame in all 11 official South African languages, created backtracks for films, and collaborated with gospel greats including Lebo Segobela, Dumi Mkokstad, and the Spirit of Praise ensemble.

A Legacy of Music, Mentorship, and Ministry

In 2012, Rofhiwa founded the annual Gospel Music Star Search through the Rofhiwa Manyaga Foundation — a platform dedicated to discovering and nurturing new gospel talent. Winners have gone on to record albums and launch successful careers, with the initiative receiving support from legends like Dr. Rebecca Malope and other gospel icons.
He is also the co‑founder of Zion Afrika, a choir uplifting Zion (ZCC) music with a dedicated program on Dumisa TV. Having written over 100 songs, performed at major festivals, and worked as a producer, mixer, and arranger for leading gospel artists, Rofhiwa continues to inspire through his unwavering commitment to truth in music.
